Concept: standard pages (Public view pages)

When defining a navigation item, you can specify two different types of content to link to from that navigation item:

■    content records that have been created by the people in your organization who perform web content authoring. Content records can be edited and they appear in the content folder hierarchy.

■    standard pages that are supplied with iMIS. These cannot be edited and they do not appear in the content folder hierarchy. You can select these standard pages only from the Or select a standard page drop-down list in the Content or URL to Link to field when defining a navigation item.

Some of the standard pages provide basic functionality such as a dynamic Sitemap page for the CM website. But most of the standard pages provide the interactive iMIS functionality found in the Public view of iMIS, which are broadly referred to as "Public pages". You can fine-tune this content by:

■    Reorganizing the navigation items to provide a different content organization and navigation flow than is found in the Public view.

■    Add new content of your own by authoring content records and defining new navigation items to point at those content records.

■    Remove specific Pubic view functionality that you don't want to expose to Public users by removing the corresponding standard pages.

Alternatively, you can create a website that does not include all of the default navigation and then manually add navigation items for only those specific standard pages that you want to appear in the website.

Note: Most standard pages require a corresponding license. For more information, refer to Granting security access to CM features.
